Young voices,
shaping the Upper Harbour.

Who we are
We are the youth voice of the Upper Harbour. A council of young people aged 12 to 24, funded by the Upper Harbour Local Board, giving youth a platform on community issues, running youth-focused projects, and advocating to the Board on what matters to us.
Our jurisdiction
Founded in 2007, we are one of the largest youth councils by jurisdiction in New Zealand. We represent young people right across the Upper Harbour Local Board area, from Whenuapai to Windsor Park and from West Harbour to Northcross.
We meet weekly at the Albany Community Hub. Our projects are funded by the Local Board, and our members bring what they hear in their schools and neighbourhoods straight to the people making decisions.
Connect, Uplift, Embrace: we give young people opportunities to explore and grow their talents, have fun, and share their voices along the way.
Our story
Nearly two decades of youth voice.

Local Board plans
The plans we advocate within.
The Local Board Plan sets the direction for our area over three years, and each year's Local Board Agreement turns it into a budget and work programme. As the board's youth voice, these are the documents our projects speak to.
